At George Jacob III Auctioneering we do not specialize in one type of auction. We are equipped to take on any auction no matter how large or small.
Studies show that merchandise will bring higher bids at an onsite auction than an offsite auction. there is less set up time involved and sales tax is not charged unless it's a business up for auction. Contact us for a free consultation. We will review what you have to sell, agree on commissions, discuss advertising and pick a date for the auction. The Seller is responsible for paying for commissions, advertising and utilities (if needed). These expenses can be paid from the proceeds of the sale. On the day of the auction my staff and I set up the canopies and tables for the auction items. We spend a lot of time on set up to make sure the bidders can see what they are bidding on. For Large auctions we set up a large canopy and fill it with benches and chairs for the bidders to sit on. We try to make our bidders very comfortable.
This type of auction requires all the merchandise be hauled to a hall to sell. This auction incurs the same fees as an onsite auction with the addition of hauling and hall rental fees.
We do hold consignment auctions periodically for small lots. In this case you bring your items to us (or we can pick them up) and we put them in an auction with other sellers’ items. Each seller has a lot number or letter and the lots are kept separate at all times. The seller is responsible for paying the commission. The advertising and hall rental expenses are split accordingly between the sellers.
We are also Licensed to sell real estate in Pennsylvania on auction. For this type of auction the seller pays a commission on the sale of the real estate plus the cost of advertising. In the event there is a reserve set on the property and the property does not sell, the seller is responsible for the advertisements and a fee to the auctioneer for his services.
We can do antiques & collectibles auctions, business liquidations, equipment auctions, farm and livestock auctions, estate auctions and charity auctions, plus whatever other type of auction might come along!
